I had mine done the first time when I was 18. It wasn't pleasant. It felt like I had bit my tongue really hard. It took a few weeks to heal up because I wasn't very good about taking care of it. I had to take it out for a job interview and it closed up. It can take some getting used to at first. You do tend to bite them when your eating and they can do damage to your teeth.

I redid it a few years later. I took better care of it and it healed up nicely. I have had it for 6 years now.

Many people either like them or really really hate them. Your the only one who knows if it's right for you. Many jobs do not allow employee's to have them. Mine doesn't effect the way I talk and isn't that noticeable, my boss never knew I had one.
